Counseling Retreats

“The world breaks everyone and afterwards many are strong at the broken places” Ernest Hemingway

Psychotherapy, commonly referred to as Counseling, is a set of scientific and interpersonal skills used in the context of a safe and secure relationship to facilitate change for client and their relationships. Counseling is like physical therapy after an injury. It is also like surgery after a broken bone or deteriorated joint. It is like hiring an architect after finding out your house has major foundational cracks.

Counseling can also be used proactively, like hiring a architect to design your house before you start building it. Or like physical trainer to improve your health, or like a financial investor to advise on the best way to invest your money. The list of problems that psychotherapy can help with is endless. Therefore, I find it more beneficial to know what you want the end result to be then look for the professionals that are best suited for those goals.

My 20+ years of experience as a psychotherapist has led me to focus on growth and wellness rather than problem maintenance. I strive to make therapy a positive and restorative experience because growth is more likely under those conditions.

Allow me to introduce you to Counseling Retreats.

A Counseling Retreat has two additional ingredients to traditional counseling- nature and time. Retreats can last 1 hour to a full day or over several days. You may choose to come to my Lakeside Indoor/Outdoor office or have a virtual retreat in your own natural and peaceful place.
